CSC Interns Rave About Real-World Experience

Making a huge impact and collaborating with experts during 10-week program

Some college students spend their summers doing things like waiting tables, working as lifeguards, or lounging in the sun. CSC’s interns get real-word experience in their chosen field and a head-start to their careers.

This summer, more than 40 interns worked in offices all over the world, meeting and collaborating with experts in their field, and making their communities better off tomorrow than they are today. Some also secured full-time positions with CSC after graduation. The interns, chosen from more than 2,500 applicants, worked in the U.S., Cayman Islands, Ireland, Luxembourg, and Spain.

Adhi Babu is a computer science major at Purdue University in India and spent his summer as a software engineer at the company’s headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware. CSC interns don’t do busy work—Adhi worked to modernize code that helps employees and clients access data.

“My mentors never hesitated to help me if I had an issue,” Adhi says. “They’ve been giving me career advice, and everyone has been incredibly friendly. The culture here is very welcoming.”

Maddie Dimond worked with CSC’s Corptax business, creating regression testing to make sure the tax software is working correctly. The Indiana University student is a rising junior with a major in infomatics and a minor in business and software engineering.

She lives in the Indianapolis area and enjoyed frequent interaction with members of the TechOps Team. “This was my first internship and first experience in the corporate world,” she says. “This opportunity will definitely help me make decisions on what I'm looking for in my future, especially the company culture and work-life balance.”

Even though she worked remotely, Maddie says CSC has done a great job at fostering a sense of community. Part of that camaraderie comes from a group project, where every class of summer interns support a nonprofit or charity of their choice. They raised money, volunteered in person, and held bake sales for charities including World Literacy Foundation, Cayman Islands Humane Society, and Goodwill Industries.

Marcin Walczak graduated from the University of North Carolina in May, where he majored in English with a minor in information systems. He spent his summer as a technical writing intern with Corptax. “We actually had a colleague say that this is not the type of internship where you're just folding T-shirts and I really could not agree more,” he says. “I feel like the work I'm doing really actually matters.”

“I’ve had so much support this entire summer. Anytime I have a question, there’s always someone to turn to,” says Marcin, who worked remotely from his home in North Carolina. “I had more than enough resources to really help me with my work. I didn’t expect it to be so inclusive in that way.”

Sophia Shroyer was a pricing and invoicing intern for CSC’s Digital Brand Services business unit. The rising junior attends the University of Notre Dame, where she’s studying finance with a supplementary major in global affairs. She raves about the company’s welcoming culture.

“I feel like I've gotten to know everyone on my team,” she says. “My leader really emphasized getting to know every member of the team. I had one-on-one meetings with everyone, and that was really helpful for understanding their different roles. It's been just a great experience and now I have an idea about what corporate life is like.”

Since 2011, hundreds of interns have learned the ins and outs of business in our program. They’ve received hands-on experience, networked with experts in their fields, and kick-started their careers during the 10-week program, which runs from June to August. Applications for the 2025 program will open in late November and be available through mid-January.
