What’s your title and how long have you been in your current position?
I’m a corporate consultant and I’ve been here since November 2023. I work with companies around the world trying to get new acquisitions over to CSC for compliance or finance services that we provide.
Before CSC, I was a project engineer with a construction company, a project manager at a residential homebuilder, and I sold real estate up in Manhattan.
How did you find out about the job at CSC?
When I moved down here a few years ago, I passed the CSC headquarters on the way home every day. My wife owns a dance studio and quite a few students have parents who work at CSC.
What do you think of CSC’s culture?
It’s definitely unique. Everyone is accepted for who they are. Everyone helps each other out. If you need help with something, they’re there for you. No one’s ever too busy to help you.
What gets you excited about coming to work in the morning?
Getting the opportunity to work with all kinds of businesses, large and small. Talking to executives who have been there and done that, learning from them and what people do here. And I love meeting different people from different parts of the organization.
When you tell people about your job, what do they find most interesting about what you do?
I usually just say we work in business development with companies around the world helping them either on the legal side or the finance side with outsourcing services.
How’s the work-life balance? Do you feel like you have enough time to do things outside the office?
We get plenty of PTO. I can definitely say the work-life balance is the best I’ve seen in years. I’ll still check emails throughout the evening, but that’s more about who I am than a requirement of the job.
I coach baseball as well. I started a travel organization with my college roommate five years ago. The players were nine years old and now they’re 14. We have three teams going on right now. I had to step away from that this spring and summer because we have a two-year-old and a one-year-old at home and my time is needed there.
What kind of opportunities do you see developing in the next few years?
Over the last five years, a lot of companies, even small companies, have been able to scale globally. I think global subsidiary management or any global opportunities will definitely be expanding. And with that, you’ll see the capital markets grow because you’re going to need more investors to expand.
What advice would you give to someone who wanted to join CSC?
When you’re interviewing, just be honest and be open about your situation and where you came from. Management really respects just being open with them and having an honest dialogue about what you want to do and why you want to do it. And then when you’re here, ask questions and listen. Understand that you don’t know everything. People have been here for 30 years, they’re still asking even me questions. Keep an open mind. Everything’s changing rapidly, so be ready to learn and be ready to use the help from people around you.
