What is your full title and how long have you been in your current position?
I’ve been a director, Legal, since February 1, 2024.
Give us a little insight into your role and what you do.
I lead a team of company lawyers in the Fund Administration team. Apart from managing, I support the team with all kinds of legal queries, make sure our files are legally sound from both regulatory and compliance perspective (together with our in-house legal and compliance teams), as well as support the team’s relationships with clients in a more relationship manager role.
Why did you choose to work for CSC?
Before joining CSC, I worked for about 10 years at Vistra in various roles. That included heading the Business Development team in Indonesia, at the Vistra Jakarta office for the last four years before joining CSC in the Netherlands. Working abroad is an absolute fantastic experience which I can recommend to anyone!
Coming from a few years in the commercial side of the business, I wanted to go back to my legal roots, and it did help there was a job opening available which was a perfect fit for what I was looking for.
Before joining Vistra, in my first role after college at an international lawfirm in Amsterdam (quite some time ago now), I worked quite a lot with Intertrust Group. There are a few people from that time with CSC now, after the acquisition, which is amazing and made me feel at home quickly.
What makes your team different?
Interesting question. My team consists of a very culturally diverse group of young and spirited people, it’s very dynamic. Team members are from all over Europe and beyond. I believe this makes our team quite different. At the same time, we are integrating the legacy Intertrust team with our legacy CSC Netherlands team who have their location outside Amsterdam, also with a lot of dedicated people in the business.
Other than the people, what do you love most about the culture here?
The “we can do” and “no nonsense” mentality. The culture is built on trust, passion, and a commitment to delivering excellence. This is felt by the team and creates an amazing atmosphere.
What’s the most interesting thing about working here and about the work you do?
Apart from working with amazing people every day who are committed, eager, and driven to deliver excellence, I really like solving legal challenges and helping the team and clients with corporate support and everyday solutions. There are quite a few regulatory changes and new regulations in the Funds industry and one of the things that keeps you young (I believe) is learning new things.
When you tell people about your job, what’s one thing that surprises them, or gets them excited about the work you do?
The very dynamic and interesting Funds business. For example, we have a lot of impact funds. These are funds that want to make a positive impact on a various range of sustainable and social goals which surprises people in a positive way what I tell them about it.
What is the work-life balance like? Do you feel supported in pursuing interests outside of work?
