Tips for Interviewing

We want you to feel at ease when you start a conversation with us. So, we asked our talent acquisition partners to offer tips for bringing your best self to an interview.

Be genuine

Bring your best self to the interview but be yourself. This is a conversation to see if you and the employer are a match.

Research and prep

Research the company—visit the website and social media pages. Learn about its brand advantage and offerings. Jot down questions about the company, the position, the department, and the interviewer.

Create your message

Consider the role you're interviewing for and what skills you possess that fit the role.

Practice

Come up with answers to potential interview questions that highlight how your skills and experience match the position. Then practice saying your answers a few times until you feel comfortable.

Get ready

Take the time to prepare yourself mentally and physically a few days before your interview.

What is it like to interview at CSC?

If you're selected to interview, our Talent Acquisition Team will be your concierge through your experience with CSC.

Throughout the process, we'll stay in contact so you know how you’re progressing. We'll do our best to give you estimated timelines and keep you informed, but if you have questions, don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Here's an overview of the hiring process:

We value diverse backgrounds and skills that will enhance our innovative solutions, so our clients' businesses can run smoother and smarter. We also look for people who add to and support Our Values and have the business acumen to advance our business services and product lines.

If you can't find the right job for you, you can create a profile and subscribe to email alerts. This way, you can be notified when a position opens that matches your skills.

Browse this Careers page, our CSC Insider, or check us out on social media.

Once you've applied, a recruiter or hiring manager will review your profile against the qualifications for the position. We'll contact the best-qualified candidates for a phone interview. Due to the high volume of applicants, we're only able to contact those who have been selected for a phone interview. If you don't hear from us in 30 days, please assume we've selected another candidate and check this page for other opportunities.

We'll invite the most qualified candidates to interview with the hiring team. This may involve a series of phone, video, or in-person interviews with the hiring manager, colleagues, and technical team members. Be prepared to answer behavioral-style questions, citing specific examples from your experience.

If we select you as the most qualified candidate for the job, we'll make a verbal employment offer. After accepting, you'll receive a formal offer letter via email. We also complete background checks (post-offer in the United States and pre- or post-offer outside the United States, following all country-specific employment laws).

You're official! We can't wait to welcome you to the team. As a new colleague, you'll work with the talent acquisition partner who has helped you, along with your hiring manager, on start dates, benefits, and onboarding. It's important that we set you up for success, starting with the onboarding process. We're excited to see how you grow your career with CSC.

You’ll answer questions about your resume, experience, and skills as well as behavioral questions to see how you’d align with the team and company culture. Tip from our Talent Team: Be ready to discuss your experience clearly, have questions for the recruiter, and ensure you’re in a quiet space with good phone connectivity.

Interviews may be in person or virtual. If virtual, we make the interviews as close to “in person” as possible, giving potential colleagues the chance to engage with our team. Depending on the team and stage of the interview process, candidates could meet one-on-one with a team member or manager, or they could meet with several team members in a group conversation.

Some roles at CSC require candidates to complete a skills assessment as part of the hiring process. These assessments help us evaluate specific technical skills or job-related competencies.

Not all positions require an assessment, and the recruiter will let you know if it’s part of your process.

If an assessment is required, you’ll receive clear instructions and sufficient time to complete it. Completing the assessment is one part of our overall evaluation, along with interviews and other selection activities.

Tips from our Talent Team:

  • Review the instructions carefully and ensure you have the right tools or environment for completing the assessment.

  • Take your time to demonstrate your abilities accurately—it’s meant to highlight your strengths.

The interview process typically takes three to six weeks, depending on the role and location. Some roles may have additional rounds or assessments that extend the timeline. We strive to keep candidates informed at each step.
