Erica's real estate practice includes negotiating and documenting the acquisition, sale, and development of real estate, ground leases for standalone retail stores and shopping center leases for in-line and end cap stores; resolving land use issues; developing and amending REAs and OEAs; assisting clients through the entitlement process; negotiating real estate finance and construction documents; conducting environmental and general real estate due diligence; and assembling corridors of real property. She has worked on transactions involving all types of properties, including residential, industrial, office space, warehouse, distribution center, mixed-use, corridor and retail.
In her banking and lending and project finance practice, Erica offers lenders and other financial institutions practical advice on all aspects of structuring, documenting and enforcing secured transactions. Erica represents construction lenders and lessors in the financing of wind and other large-scale energy projects. Erica also represents financial institutions, corporate lenders and borrowers in connection with creditors' rights and remedies issues, including real estate foreclosures, enforcement and foreclosure of Article 9 security interest, mechanic's lien foreclosures and workouts.
Erica is a cum laude graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School, and a summa cum laude graduate of the Univerrsity of Minnesota, with a B.A. in Sociology of Law, Criminology and Deviance. She is an active participant in the Minnesota Shopping Center Association, and served on the Women of Wind Energy 2011 National Leadership Conference Planning Committee.
